claims supervisory subrogation arbitration
| This is a story of a homeowner, being myself, taking my builder to
binding arbitration over a number of serious code violations. I
proceeded to binding arbitration without the aid of an
arbitration attorney. The American Arbitration Association offered
no information on how the arbitration process works. The
arbitration rules also did not tell how the process worked. Although my
issues were construction related, my sales contract (which was
copyrighted by the Georgia Association of Realtors) had placed me under
the Commercial Arbitration Rules. Arbitrations are confidential, however
I will share some guidelines and advice on how to approach arbitration
without an attorney. Below is my 4 year old home that needs $73,000
worth of repairs done.
